About the Conference
The Red Meat Sector Conference is the annual conference jointly hosted by the Meat Industry Assocation of New Zealand Inc (MIA) - a voluntary trade association representing New Zealand meat processors, marketers, and exporters, and Beef + Lamb New Zealand Ltd (B+LNZ) - the farmer owned industry organisation representing New Zealand's sheep and beef farmers.
The goal of the conference is to promote and foster the red meat sector by providing a framework for engagement between farmers, industry and service providers, as well as showcasing expertise and best practice.
In May 2011 MIA and B+LNZ developed the Red Meat Sector Strategy. The Strategy reflects the broad recognition of the underlying challenges to the sector's sustainable profitability, but also clearly defines the opportunities for the sector to realise its full potential and continue to be a principal driver of New Zealand's economy.
