Sophie Hurley
Honest Wolf
Sophie, along with her husband Sam, runs the cutter at Honest Wolf, a third generation farm at Papanui Estate in the North Island. Here, they have over 25,000 happy, healthy sheep who graciously let them remove over 170 tonnes of wool every year.

Sophie and Sam have been shearing and caring for sheep ever since they can remember and their 3,300 hectare property has been thriving for more than 80 years. Sophie and Sam hope to keep it alive and well for at least another century or two.

Papanui Estate Wool is well looked after and sustainably farmed. In 2020, like many stir crazed kiwis during lockdown, Sophie and Sam decided to design and craft the range of Honest Wolf fashion and accessories—a sustainable line of Papanui Estate Woollen pieces that’ll tie into every wardrobe and every occasion.
