He has been fortunate to visit many of key meat and dairy markets, but a career highlight was in 2004 when he spent a semester at Oxford University as a David Low fellow, studying the impact of the recent Foot and Mouth outbreak on UK agriculture and what that meant to NZ sheep meat exports.

Last year Neal embarked on a Meeting the Markets tour which took him to seven countries in six weeks, meeting key dairy and meat customers to look at the state of those markets, trends and learn of their requirements of our production systems.
Neal lives in Dunedin with his wife Liz and they have two children.
